How to create an Rust server with DNSworld

Before Starting

Here are a few things to consider before starting a Rust server: You will need to install Rust from Steam. Download Here (opens in a new tab)

If you don't already have an DNSworld account, click here to Create an Account and run your own Rust server.

Server Setup

How to setup your server using the DNSworld dashboard.

Login

Log in into your account to access the DNSworld dashboard.

Activate Server

Once your account has been created and have logged-in, you will have to choose Rust from the drop down and press ACTIVATE BETA SERVER. This will automatically create your server.

Access Your Server

Your server will show up under Your Servers. Click onto your Rust Server as shown below to access your server dash.

Obtain Server IP and Port

Once logged into your server dash on the top ribbon click on the Network tab to access your server IP Address and Port. These will be crucial when connecting to your server in game. We recommend keeping this page open to easily access your IP address and port when launching the game.

Launch Rust

Launch Rust via Steam and Press the F1 key on your keyboard.

Type Connection Command

Once press you will type client.connect and you will type your IP address and Port collected in Step 4, example shown below. client.connect 123.456.789.012:28015

Once filled in, press Enter and the server will automatically connect you within 1-2 minutes. Happy gaming from the DNSworld team!
